AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR FANS, VENDORS, AND PERFORMING GROUPS
It is our strong regret to inform you that the Oklahoma City Renaissance Festival is indefinitely postponed. This is not through our doing. The land we had secured for the site is not zoned properly, as we were led to believe before entering into a lease/purchase contract for this location. Over the last few months have invested tens of thousands of dollars and many hundreds of hours into getting the site prepped for the Renaissance Festival (and other planned events). We were quite surprised and heartbroken to find out that we had been misled about the property zoning. Upon learning of the zoning issue the OKC Ren Fest team immediately reached out to numerous entities and individuals hoping to try and secure an alternative location. The last 4 weeks have been quite emotional as we have spent almost countless hours exhausting every effort to make this event happen for our fans, vendors, and performing groups. With the dates fast approaching and a suitable location not secured I am sad to announce that we must cancel the event for this year.
We've been so blessed with the enthusiastic support and interest we've received from everyone so we will continue to pursue a location while dealing with the inevitable legal struggle we are facing. It is our hope that we will be able to secure another location within the next few months. We will keep you posted and sincerely apologize for letting you down.
We want to thank the following people for their support and assistance:
We also want to thank the City of Oklahoma City Development Services Division. Everyone we spoke with there concerning this event was very excited and it was a pleasure to work with them. We are definitely looking forward to working with them in the near future once another location has been secured.
On behalf of our entire team - We are truly sorry the event is cancelled for this year. We will continue to search for a suitable location and will keep you posted. You have our promise that we won't quit until we find a new location. Please stay tuned and continue to follow us on Facebook.
